Ben Lloyd-Shogbesan

Mental Health Liaison Officer

Ben Lloyd-Shogbesan is currently employed with Oxfordshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group. Role includes effective and efficient patient and community engagement/involvement programmes, and acting as the interface between commissioners, service providers and the community. The role also includes closer working with GP practices and patient groups, helping to address issues of access, quality and equality for the general population.

Ben chaired the Oxfordshire Equality and Human Rights Council for several years and was involved with several other voluntary and community organisations helping to address issues of discrimination, inequality and deprivation locally, nationally and internationally.

Ben is an Oxford City Councillor and a long standing member of UNISON.

As a member of the NHS BME Executive committee, Ben is passionate about addressing the issues around health and well-being, and encouraging early intervention with health and social care provisions.

Mental well-being is the pillar for individual success and achievements “There’s no health without mental health”. In my role with the NHS BME Network, I will work collaboratively with agencies, institutions, groups and individuals to tackle issues of racial discrimination and provide appropriate support where necessary to address inequality and inequity.
