This review published by the NMC on 9 July 2024 found instances of racism, bullying and discrimination at virtually every level such that the findings shows there to be “a fundamental disconnect between what the NMC embraces and what it practices”. The review was commissioned by the NMC following concerns raised by a whistleblower who claimed a “deep-seated toxic culture” was leading to skewed and failed investigations

This evaluation published by NHS England on 16 May 2024 concerning the effectiveness of virtual wards has found that black and ethnic minority people are underrepresented in patient cohorts. This finding comes as NHS England announces plans to increase access to virtual wards, to cut avoidable hospital admissions and reduce emergency department waiting time

This report published by the Institute of Health Equity in April 2024 confirms widening inequalities in life expectancy between regions in England and within local authorities since 2010. The report shows since 2010 central government spending cuts to local authorities were highest in areas with lower life expectancy and more health inequalities further harming health in these places
