NMC REPORT INDEPENDENT CULTURE REVIEW-9 JULY 2024

This review published by the NMC on 9 July 2024 found instances of racism, bullying and discrimination at virtually every level such that the findings shows there to be “a fundamental disconnect between what the NMC embraces and what it practices”. The review was commissioned by the NMC following concerns raised by a whistleblower who claimed a “deep-seated toxic culture” was leading to skewed and failed investigations

AN INTERIM REPORT SHOWS CQC IS ‘NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE-26 JULY 2024

This interim report by Dr. Penny Dash published on 26 July 2024 reveals significant failings in the regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The report finds that the CQC was unable to effectively assess the quality of health and care services, including those in need of urgent improvement such that the Health Secretary has deemed the CQC as “Not Fit for Purpose”

NHS RESPONSE TO 2024 RIOTS-12 AUGUST 2024

NHS England published its response to the 2024 riots on 12 August 2024. The document states that last week NHSE held a meeting with integrated care boards and trust chief executives and deputies to discuss the NHS’s response to the civil unrest. The letter states that the annex is intended to provide guidance and information and clarifies key points of concern
